I was going to say the same thing. I park not in the street but far from my condo. Even if my car is close by, like at my parents house, the alarm doesn't work. The alarm has gone off and the car was parked right in front of the kitchen window when it went off. I tried really hard to get it to turn off, but if I'm not really close to the car it's not going to work.
