Meika used to hide hers at first too, usually under couch cushions. So I soaked them in warm water for a few minutes to soften it a bit, and then she got into chewing. I think it also helps having them soft so they don't just crunch them up and they are gone in a few seconds; makes them last longer and hopefully cleans teeth better. At least that is my opinion
