OMG, where do I begin?

I think first and foremost a humongous THANK YOU to Renee (rbelland). Without her presence which kept me calm and her assistance (and by assistance I mean I told/asked her to do most everything & she did it), I don't know what I would have done without her! She was my rock and Halle's mid-woof and I will never be able to thank her enough. Renee, I OWE YOU.............
BIG TIME!
Halle's stage one labor probably started last night around 12:30am. I was awakened several times in the next 4 hours to sounds of nesting, licking, and once, vomiting. When I awoke at 5 to get ready for work, she was okay, ate about half her breakfast, and went back to the bedroom. My DH has been home all week with her so when I left, I reiterated the instructions to call me at the first sign that she was surely in labor. I got to work at 7am and at about 9:30 I got "THE" call. Halle was uncomfortable, looking at him funny, and pacing. When I got home, there she was to greet me, barking, wagging her tail, and I thought WHAT??? You don't look in labor to me!

But after she and I got settled in the bedroom alone, I began to see what hubby was seeing, and definite small contractions in her mid section. I talked to Cindy (chattiesmom) a bit, then Kim (peanut), put my vet's office on alert, and then got a hold of Renee. She asked if she could bring anything for me and I said, "Yes, bring yourself, please." She was here shortly after and she and I (mostly she) took over while hubby sat with the boys in the "waiting room"

This was maybe somewhere around 12-12:30pm and steadily Halle's contractions got stronger and we could see that she was pushing a little with each one. Her water broke shortly after and after a while of steady hard contractions we could see the pup -"right there" - but not quite coming out. We were just at the point of deciding to take her to the vet; I gathered Halle up in the doggie bed she was laboring in and just as I held her close to my chest to leave I felt her having another contraction. I laid it back down on my bed, she let out a yelp, and we had the head out! When we were sure it would not recede back inside, we broke the sack surrounding the pup, and with each contraction after, I held Halle as Renee gently pulled the pup free!!!

I swore he didn't look that big to me, but wow.....6 3/4 ounces; but still so tiny.
