The reason you feed puppy food to your puppy is because of the nutrition in it. to help them grow and get their protein. there is less of that stuff in adult bags as adults don't need it as much also note that softer food can cause bath teeth/breath as instead of washing the teeth and gums like hard food does it sticks to them. If you brush your puppies teeth then it won't matter, but it is somehting to keep in mind. My dog did not enjoy her food when i first got it but at first i mixed it up with canned food and now she LOVES it (no more can food though). Good Luck
