I agree. I would insist on a professional cleaning.

Take a lint roller with with you to make sure they have removed all the dog hair.

I would also take a "stink finder" (black light) with me to make sure the carpet hasn't been urinated on. Urine seeps into the pad and the smell will attract your dog.
