I'm glad you posted this because this is what I do. I have learned the "leave it" command in obedience class. Like I said, I do what you said, but I feel like I'm rewarding or teaching him to get the things he KNOWS he's not supposed to have. Does that makes sense? He gets one particular pair of my flip flops.... socks...panties. He knows he's doing wrong because he RUNS. LOL He doesn't run when he gets the things he knows he's allowed to have. So, do you think I'm teaching him that he will get a reward for doing something wrong? He's smart and he will associate a treat with this behavior.
