So my queestion is at what age and weight do you feel is good to start the heartworm preventative, flea treatment ect? I live in the country and am totally surrounded by woods so she will def need to have this prevention because even though she is inside most the time I do take her out to potty and will be taking her on walks with my other dogs when she is old enough. Not to mention I have two big dogs that roam our property and woods so I need her protected from anything they may drag in. I'm jsut not sure at what age to start this with herbeing so small..
I could call my new vet but wanted to get some input from you all in case he says yes start her now and it turns out she is too small. I love my new vet but thanks to my old vet and killing my dog that we had for 8 years I am now leary of vets..So I would love some advice on this.
I wish my vet I'd had since Iwas a teen hadn't retired..*sob* |
Well, I dont know the technical question, but this Friday we are giving Maxi his final booster shot (he got his rabies last week) and the vet told me that we should start giving him frontline and the heartworm meds too. Honestly, I dont like the chemicals in these things, so not sure about starting frontline, since he doesnt go out much but I will probably get an RX for heartworm this week.
