I am so glad Prince's surgery was a success! Your vet will probably give you a list of Do's and Don'ts for Prince during recovery time. My surgeon was very strict and Sadie did not have any activity for 6 LONG weeks! Other vets start to include exercise much earlier but Sadie was confined to a crate or my lap at all times. I kept Sadie on her regular food routine during recovery and made sure not to introduce anything new. She was on Metamucil once a day to keep her bowels regular and easy since she couldn't get in her "normal" stance since both legs were hurt. The vet did encourage me to cut back on treats so she would not gain weight. If they gain weight it can be worse on their knees when they get back to full activity.
