On the lower side of her mouth.
So if she were a human I would say it was on her lower lip. When I first saw it, I thought it was a tick because it looks like you could pick it off. I took a closer look and it's def not a tick. It almost looks like a canker sore. It's a white color. So of course, I'm freaked out. I googled and it looks like it may be "Canine Viral Papilloma". It makes sense since she goes to daycare and the pictures that I saw of if are similar. I called the vet and of course, they said to bring her in or keep an eye on it for a week or so. I'm the first to jump the gun and bring her to the vet and waste 60.00 on a visit when I should have just waited a few days.
I am still worried. It does not seem to bother her. Also, it seems like it just popped up. Does anyone have any experience with this? Could it be something else more serious? If it is in fact viral papilloma I read it can take 1 to 5 months to go away. Can I get any advice from anyone that has experienced this with their dog?
