I made a typing error in my fury while writing my above post about the incident, and since I am now too late to edit it I am going to correct myself here!
I meant to say something like this

SORRY! That first post made my fiance sound like he tried to hit Emmett and he would never do such a thing!!! I didn't even notice what I had written until I reread it after I had calmed down.
I don't want the cat to scratch Emmett, because then Emmett would fight the cat back and one of them might be killed or hurt really badly.
I wish there was a way to solve this.
