i don't think you can show a twelve week old dog but to answer your question. Showing is very expensive even if you show them yourself of course when you add a handler into the mix it goes even higher. Showing them yourself, you still have entry fees, all kinds of fancy grooming supplies, leads and show bows which can be as high as 12-13 dollars a pop or more. You have your gas money, hotel fees, food, show clothes and well you get the picture. If you live in a rural area like I do, then you will have to travel to find shows . My show weekend away from my home area averages about 500. and that is usually with someone sharing room expenses, gas and etc. Show entry is $25 per show and if you go to a five or six show weekend it adds up. Plus when i travel, I drive to the motel the day or night before so I can get up very early to bath and groom my dogs.
