It is a long and not so easy to obtain a show dog from a reputable breeder. Yes, there will a be a contract with co-ownership. I know things change from time to time. If the OP is well prepared on what to expect he/ she will have a better chance to get what they want out of their search.
It is very unfortunate when people do not know for sure what they want and/or are totally not-educated about how dog "world" works.
