As for mixing a Yorkie with Chihuahua, both mine are males so no worries about babies there. They are going to get snipped next week. before we bring a lady into our home.
All this thread was started for was to answer some questions i have on how a dog gets registered. I plan to buy a reg dog to show and i never know maybe breed with some great pedigree male. But for now just show. I understand i can have dog and breed them to death but i have no intent on that. maybe a few litters, but they would be with family and more then likly we would keep many of them..
Thanks for all the answers. |
basically i think your question was answered. If not just let us know and we will try to explain further.
You are right on trying to understand it BEFORE you get a new puppy so you will know what you getting into.
One more advice if i may: read the other posts by the people who are CURRENTLY showing. Things change from time to time. Before you buy a show prospect research a lot. You are going to pay much more for a show prospect than a regular pet so you better be ready to choose wisely. You better off getting an older puppy than a younger one. You may have to sign a contract that you will be "championing" the puppy and that is time consuming and expensive so you need to be prepared. Most people that have good show prospects will not handle a "promising" puppy to a novice unless they develop a relationship with them before, so be ready to "hop" on a waiting list.
If you think i am trying to make things sound hard, please be sure that i am NOT !
If you are as prepared as possible and you are doing that , and AS HONEST AS POSSIBLE with the breeder you are getting your puppy from you have a great chance to be very happy. Now, you need to be able to find a good and honest breeder, that is your responsibility and that is why i recommending you reading the other posts from people that are CURRENTLY showing. You will get sort of familiar on what to expect.
I wish you the best of luck !
