by taking trevor outside, he is being rewarded. you did good the first time by putting him behind the gate and waiting till he was quiet. This is what you need to do every single time he reacts badly. One time isn't going to paint the picture or him. It needs to be done all the time. Its expected for him to go back after harry the first time because he doesn't know any different. But if you keep putting him in time out every time he does it he's going to realize that "if i attack harry i get taken out of the room and away from everyone...that's no fun...i better stop"
