If I actually SEE Maddie squating and going potty, I give a firm "no" and pick her up and put her where she should go potty and if she does, give her a reward/
If I don't see her doing, I don't do anything about it. I'm sure she already forgot what she did and it was probably my fault she did a no-no b/c I wasn't watching her close enough.
Your puppy probably doesn't know what she did wrong and is giving you that sad look because she knows that you are upset with her, but isn't sure why.
