Another thing you might want to think of is finding a mentor with something other than yorkies. Maybe look for another terrier or toy breed? I know there are some show poodles, whippets, and great danes in my area and they would help me if I asked. Not as useful, but helpful and definitely better than nothing. I hope showing will continue to become more popular in the West and make it easier to point a dog out here. |
It appears with the economy the numbers are down everywhere, but in Texas.
While it is an option, showing/grooming/training and the art of presenting a yorkie is much different than any other breed.
