The whole purpose of registering is to be able to confirm the ANCESTORS or PEDIGREE. That is useful for breeders that breed purebreds to know what their choices are and follow bloodlines. I am trying to give a very simple explanation so you may be able to understand.
There are different "registries" AKC being the oldest and more reputable here in America.
The idea of MIXING breeds is totally opposite to what registries stand for.
Any decent registry will NOT register mixed breeds for pedigree purposes.
You can however register ANY mixed breed with AKC to participate in different games and competitions. But it is a different deal, you DO NOT need to have pedigrees or parents that are registered at all, it will also keep NO parentage or lineage record on a mixed, and you can only register your mix after it has been FIXED.
They do that because they support RESPONSIBLE pet ownership and sponsor spay/neuter.
I hope you are not planing to breed a litter of yorkies X Chih's. The advice you got from the other posts is true. expenses and all...
