There is a saying amongst show people. "You can't finish a dog in your backyard". That is if you're lucky enough to live in Texas and Oklahoma, where there's a show almost every weekend. I know Texas is a big state so, there is traveling involved.
If you haven't already, visit the AKC.org website and read their info on showing....lots of rules and regulations.
