Mom and puppies should be de-wormed starting at 2 weeks after the litter is born, then at 4 weeks , 6 and 8. You should use Pyrantel . Mild and safe on the right dosage. i use liquid. You can also use PANACUR-C , It is very safe for the mom, and the puppies can be de-wormed with this just before you sent them home, it is given over a 3 days period.I mean, the puppies should be de-wormed with panacur just once before going home, at 2, 4 ,6 weeks they can have pyrantel.

We do Xrays after day 50 of pregnancy, very important so you know how many puppies are there, by then you can see how big the heads are, if GOD FORBID you have a normal delivery and one puppy gets "retained" in there how would know if you did not know how many were there to begin with? you can also see if they are on the right position or breech.

We do feed dry PREMIUM puppy food right after the "tie"; towards the end IF she gets fussy to eat, start to loose the appetite we supplement with yogurt, cottage cheese, egg yolk ( be careful it is very fattening) chicken breast home made... But if all goes good and she has no stomach upsets and eats well we keep with the dry food only. After delivery we supplement with "a/d" , a prescription food from science diet that is very rich and has extra calcium. You can get this from your vet.
I never used the calcium supplements so i am useless for advice on it.

Blessings !
XOXO
