1) I just sold one of my female's first litter. The pups had round worms. Of course, she was cleaning up after them and I saw the round worms in the poop after I wormed the pups. Am I supposed to worm the mamma dog too, since she ate their poop - or is she ok?

2) My other female (tiny girl) is pregnant and due around the 26th. I can feel pups moving around in her belly. How many of you recommend that I have her x-rayed or an ultrasound to see how many pups she is carrying? Is it a waste of money unless there is a problem in delivery?

3) When do you all start feeding your pregnant female some puppy food? Right after conception - or a couple weeks before delivery?

Any and ALL help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!

Yes, your mom should be dewormed. If the pups have the worms, so does mom.

Yes, I would have her x-rayed.

I usually don't do puppy food, discussing this with my vet, if you're feeding a good quality food, just increasing her meals is sufficient. A good tab with calcium after delivery, cottage cheese, cheese and a daily scrambled egg should be sufficient. And of course whelping pudding.
