Hi
I have a girl yorkie Lacey who is now 2 yr old and weighs about 4 lbs and a girl Maltese who weighs about 3.5 lbs but now lives with my ex husbank..bacK in May I went to see another little girl yorkie so Lacey would have a playmate..I saw the parents of the puppy (there were only 2 in the litter) and the Mom was about 2.5 lbs (much to small to breed) and the dad was even smaller I told the lady I would not be picking her up until she was 12 weeks so she could stay with her mother...I gave her a deposit and 2 days ago I went to get Ella...she is now 13 weeks.Well she was just beautiful, very healthy looking, and spunky...although she was so small and when I got her to the vet yesterday she weighed in at 10 ozs..and yes we triple checked...the vet says she is just very tiny but as far as she could tell very healthy (no worms, palete is closed and fontenel is closed) and so far her hips look fine...she is free eating so I can fatten her up and is doing well, But I am worried about her small size..the vet says in her experience with parents that small she probably wont hit 2 lbs full grown...does anyone here have a tiny one? (I never call them teacups) and what do I need to look out for? I do carrry nutracal just in case...any advice is so appreciated.. I am posting 2 pictures of her and one is with my iphone so you can see just how small she is...
