Harley basically started out with a fever. We figured it was just a virus. Called our friend, a vet, and he came over to look at him. Decided to take him to his clinic. Brought him hom with instructions to give him antibiotics Metrodizanole (liquid) and two other pills. Harley was very good when he came home, back to normal. Then the next day he went downhill again. I had given him two bouts of meds. the liquid twice, the pills once, as per doctor orders. That evening he strated having tics or neuroligical something going on. Couldnt stand up, circling, head pressing. We called him again and he came by the next morning and took him to his clinic. He has had him ever since giving iv fluids to flush him out. Thinks it might be a reaction to the metrodizanole which happens occasionally, causing neuro probs. Says blood he did take shows high liver enzymes, but cant do real test for liver shunt due to it taking too much blood for it and he doesnt think he can handle it. I had been giving him cheese eggs and beef baby food just to get him to eat. Now I am wondering if all that protein is what caused this to flare? I just dont know but I am extremely worried about getting him back today. I am so worried. |
