Hey! This I have some knowledge in. I started with my oldest by walking him for 20 minutes. Then it easily became 2-5 mile walk. He loves them and when he would get tired, I would pick him up and carry him a distance. Then put him down and he would be rested enough to walk again. Earlier this summer I tried roller blading with him. He loves that too! And he can easily go 5 miles (2.5 miles one way and 2.5 back). Sometimes he gets tired and I will carry him but for the most part he does just fine. He never seems overly exhausted and I give him plenty of water afterwards. We even take rest breaks because I can't keep up with him. I don't take him every day but once to twice a week. Madden (4 1/2 months) loves roller blading too! He went between 1/2 to 1 mile the first time and is working up to it. With him though, I took a lot of rest breaks but he never stopped wagging his tail or trying to catch the wheels on my blades. But before that, he would walk 20 minutes and be tuckered out. But now he goes on hour long walks around the neighborhood and attacks all the plants he finds. He loves long walks and roller blading like Jack does. Both my dogs have lots of energy so it is nice to be able to drain it. I just make sure they get a lot of water and go out when it's not super hot out (usually in the evening when it cools down). Trust me, once she gets use to it, she will surprise you (just factor in how active she is).
