I have this same problem with Piper. She's 15 months and every time she has gotten loose she runs. Luckily we have a large yard and she basically runs around the house and plays catch me if you can. She runs to the front yard and when I get there she runs to the back. She has gotten loose twice and both times have scared me big time. I had a Yorkie before her he never did that but I let him have the run of the yard with me from the beginning so it was no big thing to run when he was loose. Now 14 years later there are too many preditors around and we are surrounded by woods. I'm so afraid that something is going to come out of the woods and snatch her so I never let her loose. A coyote got our 15 year old cat a few years ago. I think she likes to run because she just never gets the opportunity to run all out. I do take her for a 3 mile walk every day so she does get plenty of exercise. I would love to hear how everyone else is able to get their baby to stop and come when their called.
