Just to let you know I took my boy to the groomers yesterday and they plucked the little hairs in his ear and cleaned his ears really well...and his itching behind his ears has improved so much! I haven't seen him itch at all! You might want to try this if you still have a problem with ear itching after his infection is gone. Apparently it is a common issue with yorkies! Who knew? But it would be good to continue to clean his ears even if you don't want to get the hairs removed.. you would be surprised by how much wax will build up in a small amount of time!

One other thing.. I know it seems crazy that your breeder bathed your dog in Dawn dish soap, but this is actually very common. It works well for cleaning, its gentle [it's used to clean ducks, seals, and other wildlife affected by oil spills], and can help if your pup has fleas or itching at an age too young for preventative medication. My breeder used Dawn as well!
