Leg Perthes disease is not uncommon. there have been many yorkies on YT that have his problem. There is a simple surgery that can be performed by an orthopedic surgeon to fix the problem. The femoral head is taken off. Scar tissues forms. That plus the muscles around the joint help strengthen the leg and after a few months you'd never know there was a problem to begin with.

I don't think the experts know for sure if this is a genetic problem but i feel that its too great of a chance that it is so the parents should be fixed.
