Some people say that the x-ray will let them know if the pup is too big but most all of them will let the female go into labor and try to whelp naturally anyway. Also the x-ray can be deceptive about the the size of the pup.
In my opinion it is a matter of choice and it has nothing to do if you are a reputable breeder or not. You have to look at each female and each pregnancy. If a person is breeding very small yorkies then it might be helpful but since I don't breed tiny females I just don't find it necessary. |
This is how I look at it and what my breeder sais, my breeder sais it is a waste of money because it is not always right. I agree with you as well. It is hard not to but for the safty of my gal I am not going to take her in, just if she is prego I pray all will go well for her. Her tummy is getting larger and she was 8.5 pds before she went into heat. Now she is 10 pds. THey could be somewhere by her ribs. If I dont feel anything by the end of next week then I will asume she is not prego. but then again who knows for sure until the time comes. I will keep updates as well.
