my dog was about 4 lbs when she got spayed; and the vet did giver her injection to put her under anethesia; everything was fine; they will do a blood test firs to see if everything is okay before they do the surgery; it's a routine surgery, you shouldn't be worried. it's better for her in the long run; she will keep getting pms and will bleed once every few months (she will get her period); i know my friend had to spay her dog because she started to bite her and whoever came over; she had bad pms and was always angry and growling.
