Default when can you remove a posted thread

I'm curious on member's view on this one. When do you think you should be able to remove a thread or comment you posted yourself? I posted a thread on a horrible breeder a couple of years ago -- this breeder eventually lost her registration rights with AKC, went bankrupt and then died of cancer. I don't see the purpose of my thread anymore as this breeder can't sell puppies anymore, and in respect to her family asked to have it removed -- but was told I couldn't b/c it still benefits people. When should we be able to remove our threads: how about if we in the heat of a moment said something insulting to another member -- I see lots of those in threads....and once did it myself but wasn't allowed to remove it.... what do others think?????

Please admin don't remove this thread I think it might be good for discussion.
