There is an AKC Yorkie breeder near me that has a female Yorkie puppy. The Yorkie is only 5 weeks old and won't be ready for another 7 weeks. She said the puppy is small and may only be 2 or 3 pounds as a dog. Is this a safe and healthy weight for a Yorkie? She said that she will be taking the puppy to the vet soon for a thorough checkup. She will be giving me the name of the vet and phone number, but I wanted to check with experienced Yorkie owners.
