Why don't you talk with your daughter about whether she would like another puppy. Explain to her that it is okay to talk about Fluffy's dying and alright to grieve for him. This is a good opportunity to teach and support her about grieving. If you are unsure about what to say, please ask her therapist or your pastor.
It will empower her to be part of this important decision about when to get another puppy and she will be less apprehensive over losing another pup.
