Good luck with your baby! |
So my vet told me that my Yorkie threw up blood had nothing to do with the Staple he swallowed. Thank you for all of your concerns! My yorkie threw up blood because he didn't eat for 2 days straight since he's gotten too picky with his food. He had too much (excessive) digestive acid in his system which irritated his pancres and his throat, therefore he threw up blood. The vet told me to keep feeding him rice and chicken for the past 3 day and then consider switching Sammy to Adult food. I've been introducing the Wellness Small Breed Adult Health Super 5 Mix kebble to him next to his rice like the Vet told me. When I first gave it to him, he ate a good 10 piece; mainly because I hand-fed him...he then stopped eating it. He'd toss it around like a toy, and then he gives up and leaves it on the floor. I think I just have a problem yorkie. I know he finishes Chicken and Rice completely, but I was told to eventually completely fade it out. I don't want to continue feeding him rice and chicken becaues 1) He may eventually get tired of it too, so when he does become sick, I'll have nothing to feed him. 2) It does not have the complete nutrition he needs.
What do I have to do to get him to eat? I'm back in this dilemma where if I don't feed him, he'll throw up again and get sick....and watch him suffer. But at the same time, in order to get a picky dog like Sammy to eat (or any dog as a matter of fact) I know I should starve him and take his food away after 20mins of not touching it until he gets so hungry to the point, he'll learn to love his kebble. Please anyone, any good pointers or advice?
