for sure you made the right choice. i wouldn't trust that person at all and i wouldn't trust that humane society to spay/neuter my pet.

go for a vet who knows a lot about toy breeds and anesthesia and who treats you with respect. your pet is like your child and you need to find the best care options for him/her, not someone who childishly yells at you and gives you grief for trying to do the right thing.

i would report that person as well.
