I have included pictures of her and the sire and dam. The sire and dam are both AKC registered. My groomer (who currently is breeding yorkies as well as several other breeds, she has 3 litters of yorkies right now) says she has never seen that much white on a yorkie and told me that either my sire or dam is not full bred. My vet says that it looks like they might carry the parti gene. Of my 3 litters, no puppy has had this much white. Anyone have opinions on whether they are possibly not full bred (even though they are AKC) or parti carrier.
your groomer is trying to make you feel bad. ALMOST ALL my yorkies are born with a white patch on their chest. it gradually fades and turns either tan or light gold. But, I have to admit I have never seen one with a patch as big as the one in your picture. Does not mean they are parti carriers tho just because they have a little white on their chest. Between the two, your vet is probably the one that is right but i wouldn't even say he is. i have been a breeder many years and altho the white that large "could" mean parti carrier, it doesn't mean it is. OOPS I didn't see till just now that she also has white on her face. Vet is probably right. I have had small patches on paws and chest but never on face or head.
