Heartworm meds are necessary. Heartworm is deadly if they get it. I dont know if you can get it at the pound or the shelter. There are some places online like petshed that you can buy the heartworm med heartquard without a prescription. I havent seen interceptor for sale anywhere without a prescription but maybe you could get a prescription from your vet |
