Jackson was 9 weeks old when I brought him home and I brought him directly to my dad's house after getting him... he had a Jack Russell mix and he really opened up when there was another doggy in the house! He was so happy! The very next day, we went to my mom's house (where I live) and they had a dog there too and they've been fine. He had already had one set of shots though at 8 weeks old. I think it's good to get them socialized early on. No dog parks, Petsmarts or a place with a lot of dogs but I see no issue with allowing your cousins doggy to play with Sadie at all. What if you already had another dog at home? You're not going to not let Sadie play/meet your other dog? It's just one dog, who you know is up-to-date, it should not be a problem at all!! I would not be waiting until my dog was 4+ months to expose them to other dogs or people or the outside. Just be smart about it. Jackson did and learned soo much from 9 weeks-16 weeks that I had him. Snow, rain, other dogs, potty training was much easier. I would never agree with keeping a dog cooped up inside until 16-18 weeks of age.
