Here is an article taken from a local paper that pretty much explains about the Bufo. I had not heard anything about them either. My husband, who had lived in Florida for about 31 years, heard about them, but never actually saw one, so when he saw Moses convulsing and drooling foam, he had a feeling that Moses had an encounter with a Bufo and picked him up and sped (going thru red lights) to an emergency vet not far from here. It was 5 a.m. in the morning. When he arrived, Moses was very rigid and he was panting and his eyes were rolling up in his head. We really thought he wouldn't make it. When it was over, my husband searched the whole yard and eventually found the Bufo and crushed it with a brick. He was so angry....The Toad only comes out when it is dark, and hides when the sun comes up.
