LOL! OK the only reason I know a lot about this is because Loki was a bad bad puppy! He's also brilliant, so training went well and we kept up with it. We had a really great trainer, too. I also tend to get deep into whatever I do - I like lots of information! Anyway, my world got turned upside down when we got Sam. She isn't as smart (maybe she is, but not in a "i'll do whatever you want for a cookie" way) and she's a pretty good dog so she didn't need a ton of training. It's taken me the 2 years I've had her to kind of figure her out. Now that I see how she learns, I'm in love with her even more. It has definitely changed my "Why can't you teach your dog sit in 10 minutes? I did" attitude. Sam can sit now and she even learned "down" "stay" and "shake"! You really do learn how to communicate with them. It's amazing!
