Default flea/tick collars

probably 25-30 years ago, I tried one of those collars on a cat I had. I left her for a couple of hours and when I came home, she had worked her lower jaw under the collar trying to get it off. Well, it got stuck under the collar, normally no big deal. But, in that short time, the poison had darn near eaten away her lower jaw. I was shocked and haven't ever touched one since. I want nothing that powerful near an animal's fragile skin, ever. Whatever they permeate those collars with is some scary juju.
