Breeding 2 virgin dogs is rather difficult. You may have to put him up on a book, roll a towel to give him some leverage. My husband usually holds and guides the male, while I hold the female.......Sometimes it takes several tries. Try for about 15 minutes and if he doesn't succeed let them rest awhile and try again. What you don't want to do is fracture his ego.....It may take 5 or 6 tries or more before you have success. And it may be she is not quiet ready. He may not be penetrating far enough for her to grab onto him, as she is the one that initiates the tie. Remember she can concieve without a tie.
