 my yorkie had cushings
after reading the cushings disease forum i felt i had to write this.
Towser was 12 before he was diagnosed with the disease. He was lazy , had bad eyes that would get really sore and a bad coat of fur with dry skin. he was put on a course of treatment but seemed to have a different prob each time the medication was changed. he lost his shine! And his life 2 weeks ago and its the hardest thing i have had to deal with. he looked at me when i found him in my study laying in the floor facing the wall. then i found him practically laying in his water bowl and knew something wasn't right. i wanted to take him to the vet but previous experience told me to starve him for 24 hours and see how he was, as he would be sick. I looked at him and said is it time old boy and he collapsed on his bed. i left the room to check on tea as friends were coming round this was 6pm . my wife called me through and said i think you need to check towser just as friends were arriving and he had gone. i hate myself for not being there at the end. he gave me 13 years and i wasn't there a the end. that really hurts. |
