I was told at 3 weeks they can regulate their own body temperatures and there is no need for a heating pad any longer. I live in california and my house is warm to begin with, in fact I have had to turn the AC on for the puppies because we had some 100+ days. I try to pay attention to if they are all snuggled up together sleeping and look cold or if they are more scattered out to decide what to keep my temperature is in my house. It seems 78 degrees in the house has worked well for us all. I keep the pups away from the vents and drafts from the door.
