Aw, poor baby! I wonder if he's just extra sensitive to the smell or an ingredient. You could try ProDen's Plaque Off - it's a sprinkle you put on their food. Interestly, many vets are starting to carry it, so it seems like some validation. I just picked some up last week at pet food boutique...but you can get it online too.
