My best advice for you is to make her appointment to be spayed as soon after she finishes her heat as possible. It will also prevent her from having life threatening uterine infections (pyometra) later on. |
I plan on having her spayed. I have only had her for about 4 weeks, so spaying her before her first heat was not an option for me, too late. I have never had a female dog, and the lady that gave her to me said "she shouldn't have a heat for a while." So, we can only hope she doesn't get any of the health issues you mentioned.
