Just note the address and stand your ground along with your "HALT" and pennies, or whatever until they arrive, if you can, so they don't put you on the back burner and get around to it 3 hrs later when the dog is back in the yard. Irresponsible owners and violation of leash laws, make me nuts. My Baxter is blind in one eye because of being attacked by an unleashed large dog. We're still waiting for the blood clot behind the eye to resolve (it has/will take months) to see if the retina has detached before any determination can be made as to whether the eye will ever regain sight or just die and shrink, and have to be removed.
