She just turned two in July. I can see tarter on her teeth. I know she needs a cleaning. She will not chew on bones like my boys do. My Trouble's teeth are very white with no tarter. My other boy's teeth are clean too. Tenci just doesn't chew like they do.
I have mentioned to my vet about the collapsed trachea, but he said she was doing that because her gum was infected, but I have a friend who works at Texas A&M who just from hearing the problem from me doubts that is causing her problem. My vet is suspose to be the best in my town for small animals. We don't have any dental vets here. Tenci is also having a problem with her hair falling out, but my vet doesn't address that at all.
He does use the safest anthisia (spelling) to put them under, but she is only 2.5 lbs, and I am so afraid something will go wrong. She is my princess. I lost my Gizmo over a year ago from a liver shunt that if it had been addressed sooner he would have had a better chance at survival, but my vet told me for two years that he did not have a liver shunt. I guess that is why I doubt him now.
I would really like to change vets, but in this area I just do not know where to go.

I am actually thinking about taking her to the after hours emergency clinic this evening. I know they will X-ray her for me. I dont know what else to do. |
it could be hypothyroid as hair loss is tied to that as well also dogs get tired and lethargic with that. I am not liking the vet if he did not listen about the liver shunt issue he is not up to date on yorkie breed.
My other concern if the coughing sound is not similar to any of these is her heart - does she have a heart murmur because she gets winded, pants and coughs that is concerning to me as may be tied to heart if it does not sound like any of these.
I hate to say it but i would look for a new vet after what you are saying about the liver shunt dog you have as sorry he is way out there saying a cough is tied to a gum infection sounds like he just wings it to me
