If she had been spayed before she ever had a heat she would never get mammary cancer. If you had spayed before she had her second heat, the risk would still below, about 8%.Now that she's had her second heat, her risk of cancer has risen to 25%.
My best advice for you is to make her appointment to be spayed as soon after she finishes her heat as possible. It will also prevent her from having life threatening uterine infections (pyometra) later on. |
