i too haven't heard anything really great about the shot. However, while working as a vet tech we did spay/abort many mommies and puppies. The spay is tougher on the female and they take a little longer to recovery since their bodies have been through a lot more. After 2 weeks though they are typically back to their normal self. I do not know if there is any mental stress that they go thru from losing the puppies. i do not know if they realize they were pregnant and that they now have lost the puppies. maybe other breeders will have insight into this part.
