I do have a 2 year old Maltese, Cody and when I got him at 10 weeks old I had a lot to learn then too but hey, (whew) I got it...lol

Anyway, I took Colt to the vet yesterday. He is 11 weeks old and weighs 11 ounces. The vet gave him a great bill of health except he still has a soft spot on yop of his head which he says in normal for little dogs. (Cody had one too). My questions are pretty much basic. I did go to the growth chart but that only confused me. I was looking for suggestions on what type of puppy food is suggested and how much should be given as well as treats. My Maltese favorite treat is radishes!!

Also, the breeder said Colt has already been Frontlined. I remember when Cody was Colts age and was told repeatedly that at 11 weeks old, it is to young for frontline. Anyone know any thing about this?

One last question, I bathe Cody in a special shampoo and Creme Rinse, For Maltese Only. It keeps their coats white as well as beautiful and very soft.
Does anyone have any good suggestions here?

Sorry for so many questions but I really do want to make sure my little one gets taken care of the best I can.

Thank you in advance for any advice.
Welcome The growth chart can look confusing. The simple math to figuring out your babys adult weight is to remember this simple formula: Take your babys weight at 8 weeks old and triple it. Or take your babys weight at 12 weeks old and double it. So if Colt still weighs 11 oz at 12 weeks old, 11 x 2 = 22 oz. 16 oz = 1 lb. He should reach 1 lb and 6 oz. This is just an estimate, but the formula is easy to understand this way. I have 2 yorkies and my first one got 2 1/2 lbs bigger then the chart suggested and my second one stayed 1 1/2 smaller then the chart suggested. Hopefully your little guy outgrows the chart! He's gonna be small! I use Summerwinds shampoo and conditioner and I love it!
