for barking with my other dogs i have always found that a "clicker" works well. i know that i read on here that people have used them for praise, but i use them for discipline. my bailey has always hated it & stopped right away. i've heard of people shaking a can of change too, but i'd imagine for that may be too much of a loud disturbing noise.
